Home Watch is a professional service that provides periodic visits to vacant or seasonal homes. During each visit, trained professionals check the property inside and out for signs of damage, leaks, break-ins, or other issues. The goal is to identify problems early and give homeowners peace of mind by ensuring their property is being regularly monitored while they are away.
Those are both qualified individuals which do a different scope of work than Professional Home Watch. We do not inspect for construction defects or that buildings meet construction codes. Nor do we patrol housing looking for nefarious individuals. We DO perform regular visual inspections of the premises to check for any problems that, if left unaddressed, could escalate from minor damage into a major disaster assuring the homeowner of peace of mind while they are away.
Yes, Guardian Owl Home Watch offers a satisfaction guarantee. If you are not satisfied with our services, cancel at any time and you will be refunded the pro-rata balance of fees.
Yes, we hope so. But catching problems while they are minor is great both of the home owner and the insurance company. Insurance policies may have vacancy or unoccupancy clauses. If a home is left unattended for longer periods of time, water damage (from leaks, frozen pipes, etc.) or other losses might not be covered unless the home is being checked regularly. Having a documented Home Watch service helps demonstrate the property was not “unattended.”
You certainly can, but these are "hobby" home watcher. Ask yourself:
Are they professionally trained?
Are they obligated to do a thorough and complete check at regular intervals?
If something goes wrong on your property, are they insured?
Will they "return & report" after each visit, so you have peace of mind?
